Life Lines by Sarah Courtney (Book 1 - Completed)

Natalie Abernathy was born into a world where the lines on your skin tell everyone who you are. They appear like tattoos and change with every choice you make, every person you meet. Only one line remains constant. Your love line. The only colored line on the human’s skin, a blood red mixed in with the black. Natalie’s world is consumed with The Sickness, the next stage in human evolution that can strike you when you are fourteen. Or doesn’t. If you survive The Sickness, you become one of the Elite, faster, stronger, smarter than the humans who don’t get The Sickness. The Elite’s lines are colorful, beautiful in their own way. A mixture of deepest purples, the darkest blues, and dominate greens. They cover the black lines the Elite were given at birth, rewriting their destinies forever. As Natalie comes to find, the Elite aren’t what they seem. The Sickness is not what it seems. Her heart is broken by the loss of her best friend Cecil McCourt, who succumbed to The Sickness days before their shared fifteenth birthday. Her friends surround her, trying to fill the void left by Cecil. Time moved on, carrying Natalie along with it. Now it’s three years later, everyone’s senior year. Days before school starts, Natalie befriends the new boy in town, Union Davidson. Cecil (now known as Cyrus) is quick to warn her away from him. At first she thinks it’s a trick but as things start to happen, Natalie finds herself trapped between the thing she wants most in the world and something else quite darker than she imagined. © SCCourtney ~ * ~ Finalist in the Watty’s 2012

I can’t begin to describe how excited and emotional I am. To have Marcus and Abigail’s story out in the world is a dream come true, and I pray you all fall in love with them as much as I did.

I’m working with an awesome team and there are some amazing things in the works for the release, one in particular that I can’t wait for you all to *hear* :)

Great Sites to get good books:

  1. amazon.com - this is a given.  They have a fantastic book selection, are also a great site to look up and find books you might be interested in.  They also show prices from other places and for used books which may be cheaper than what is advertised on their sight and you can purchase these cheaper books through their site.
  2. betterworldbooks.com - they’ve got tons of books to look through and purchase from and if you’re looking for cheaper books you can search through their bargain bin which is over 9000 pages long and has a great selection of different kinds of books at good prices.  just be sure when looking though the bargain bin that you check and see the condition the books are in.  Most of them are used so it’s important to know when purchasing used books what their condition is.
  3. half.com which is a part of ebay offers discount prices on a variety of products which are broken up into sections.  One section being dedicated to books
  4. abebooks.com is another good site and they make it very easy to search for specific books.  You can look up a book on the home page by title, author, keywords, or ISBN.
  5. alibris.com a great site to look up used, new, and textbooks.  currently are offering a discount for the next 72 hours so if you want to purchase from this site then go to the web address and get the coupon code from them and start shopping.  15% off coupon.
  6. BookCloseOuts.com - sells bargain books.  Great site to get a deal on.
  7. Powell’s books - powell.com - books here such as ‘water for elephants’ starting at only a $1.95
  8. usedbookcentral.com - some reasonably priced books you have to dig through to decide if the prices here are good for you or if you can do better on the other site
